KRUPA LOVING ANIMALS is a registered non-government organization in Bangalore, India providing timely and essential service to homeless, abandoned, street animals suffering hunger, ill-treatment and disease. Animals – mostly dogs and cats – abandoned on the streets are collected by us and we provide shelter and food. Besides, many animals that come here for treatment are victims of accidents, cruelty and illness. The animals are given treatment and we undertakes to provide them comfort and solace. Once they recover we also take efforts to find good homes for them. However permanently handicapped animals are kept at this shelter and looked after with love and care.
At present we have about 120 animals that include dogs, cats, horses, bulls and sheep. The bigger animals had been rescued from cruelty.
Krupa is a nonprofit organization which works towards the fulfilling of mankind’s inherent responsibility towards innocent and helpless animals. This organization has been recognized by animal welfare board of India (AWBI), with reg # KA 024/2001 AWB. Krupa has tried to uplift the living standards of these animals and give their basic right to live. Today Krupa has , salaried caretakers and experienced vets. Work done by Krupa has been recognized by Zee TV Kannada Excel group and has been awarded Best Social Service award in 2008. About 1 Lakh square feet of Land has been given to them by Karnataka Govt. A Permanent fence has been created around this plot by the organization. The shelter has a small clinic and a part-time doctor. Much of the treatment is managed within the premises.
The cost to run this service includes food for the animals, medicines and salaries to workmen. With absolutely no help from the government, we have to solely rely on the benevolence of compassionate people for funds. Although we continue to get sponsors to provide food and medicine, it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage the service due to increase in costs and scarcity of funds. We run this service on rented premises with no permanent infrastructure.
KRUPA would be extremely grateful for any help extended in meeting the above requirements. We look forward to active financial support from compassionate people to run this shelter more efficiently and provide relief to many more suffering homeless animals.

- There is a marked increase in inflow of cases of diseased animals which can be attributed to traffic density in the city. Number of animals especially stray dogs hit by speeding vehicles is greater than before. So are the cases of abandoned pet dogs. In the absence of any other organization to accept these cases, they are brought to KRUPA. We are unable to say no to these cases which are invariably serious in nature.
- Cost of food, medicines and disinfectants has doubled in recent months. We are managing food and medicines through donations which are uncertain and precarious. It is becoming a struggle to ensure that the dear inmates do not go hungry.
- With increase in number of animals we have to employ more labour to carry out cleaning and upkeep which means increase in salary expenses.
KRUPA would be extremely grateful for any help extended in meeting the above requirements. We look forward to active financial support from compassionate people to run this shelter more efficiently and provide relief to many more suffering homeless animals.
